Every day, we are exposed to numerous chemical substances through our diet, environment, workplace, and the products we use. Some of these can have significant, long-lasting health effects. How can we better prevent these risks and move from exposure to action?
Ahead of the Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC), this session will draw on real-world experiences to explore various courses of action: preventing pollution, identifying sources of exposure, generating and using scientific data, and engaging in dialogue with authorities.
Since chemical pollution often crosses borders, local action must also be supported by international frameworks and cooperation. The GFC can play a vital role in this regard by supporting local initiatives, facilitating cross-border responses, and feeding on-the-ground experiences into global decision-making processes.
The session will address a central question: **how can we strengthen the link between local action and international cooperation to better prevent chemical pollution and protect health?**
